Jaeger-LeCoultre Unveils the Reverso Tribute Geographic: A Modern Take on Travel Time
Share
At this year’s Watches and Wonders, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced the Reverso Tribute Geographic, a refined evolution of its travel-time complications. While inspired by the quirky ‘90s Reverso Géographique Dual Time, this new iteration embraces the clean, minimalist aesthetic of the current Tribute collection.
Case & Dimensions
The watch shares its 49.4mm x 29.9mm x 11.14mm case dimensions with the Reverso Tribute Chronograph, placing it on the larger side for a Reverso. Its vertical wrist presence may challenge those with smaller wrists, but its proportions ensure legibility and balance.
Dial Side: Sleek & Functional
-
Sunburst dials in blue (steel) or chocolate (pink gold LE) with polished, faceted indices.
-
A standout oversized date display (a patented 2021 design) where discs sit side-by-side, ensuring smooth transitions (e.g., 19 → 20).
-
Small seconds subdial maintains the Tribute line’s elegance.
Caseback: A World of Detail
Flipping the case reveals the true highlight:
-
A laser-engraved world map with hand-filled lacquered oceans and polished relief landmasses.
-
A rotating 24-hour ring (adjusted via a hidden pusher) with day/night indication, offering an intuitive travel-time function.
-
Powered by the new in-house Calibre 834, designed specifically for these complications rather than as an add-on module.
Straps & Pricing
-
Steel model ($21,200) includes blue canvas & calfskin straps.
-
Pink gold limited edition (150 pieces, $34,900) comes with tan calf leather & black alligator straps, both supplied by Casa Fagliano.
Final Thoughts
The Tribute Geographic continues JLC’s trend of reimagining complications within the Reverso’s iconic form. While it lacks the eccentric charm of its ‘90s predecessor, its clean design and technical execution stand strong on their own.
That said, the larger case size may deter purists who prefer the classic Reverso elegance. Here’s hoping future iterations bring these innovations to more wearable dimensions. For now, it’s a compelling addition to the Tribute line, one that balances utility and sophistication with JLC’s signature craftsmanship.
